Waaaaay over due

Okay to start off this blog post I am going to apologize for how long it is going to be.
We have been SOO busy the past month and a half. So I am going to do a short summary of what the last part of living in D.C. was like and what our new adventure in Rexburg, Idaho is like, enjoy!

Chad and I were both so sick of working.
The last month in D.C consisted of us going to New York, going to the zoo, Phillip Phillips John Mayer concert and visiting the gorgeous Temple of Washington D.C.

New York was incredible! I absolutely love the city feel! Makes me want to live there someday, but Chad thinks I'm crazy. While driving in New York City (yes we drove in the city) we saw some pretty interesting people, along with the craziest drivers. I now know why people ride bikes. I have also been numbed to the sound of car horns, it was just a constant noise. But I am so glad we made the trip!

Look who we found!! I love this brother of mine

These boys rock!

Might as well get one of us as well

He's a cutie

Then we went to the empire state building

82 floors later...

We left Saturday morning, and we tried to hurry home because we had the Phillip Phillips, John Mayer concert that night. Holy cow that was such a good concert. Well except for the random girls trying to party dance to John Mayer music. That was interesting. Anywho, we had fun, and had a good last weekend in D.C.

We thought we should take a cuter picture

We are procrastinators. We had meant to go to the temple many different times during the summer but with his work hours and the traffic in D.C. it was about impossible. We finally had the opportunity to go. It is such a gorgeous place. Just being on the grounds I felt so peaceful.

Then we headed to the Zoo. We saw and met a lot of interesting people. We didn't see many animals though. Thats okay though, we were together with friends being weird.

The next day (Tuesday) Chad thought he better go knock a few more doors to make some money. That night the office called us and told us we had to be out of our apartment by morning.
"WHAT?!" that was what went through my head.
I thought it was going to be impossible to pack everything up and move to a new apartment by morning. But we did it.
We also decided that we were going to leave a day earlier because there was no point to unpack everything to just pack it back up. So that Thursday we left at 6:00 a.m.
We arrived home Friday at about 11:30 p.m. 3200 miles in 2 days. I never wanted to be in a car again. But Chad made it fun, and calmed me down when I got road rage and made wrong turns to add another hour onto our drive. He is the greatest (:

Here is a picture of the sunset on our drive.

We made it back just in time to attend one of my very best friends' wedding!
Jamie Jensen, now Roberts, looked absolutely gorgeous! I am so happy for her! I am also so happy I got to see some of my friends!

We stayed in Utah for about a week until we started another journey up to Rexburg, Idaho. This is the door of our new apartment.

I would post pictures of the inside of our apartment but its kind of a mess, and not quite put together yet.

These right here are the gems Mattie and I found at D.I.
Side note: Mattie and Chris live RIGHT next door to us. Like if we were to both open our doors we could just stare at each other. It is so fantastic because we all get along so well and its like we are on a big fun double date everyday!

This is a picture in the middle of our workout
Mattie and Kelly make me get up everyday to workout.

Rexburg is home away from home.
I love love love it here and am so grateful I have the amazing friends and especially my amazing husband that puts up with me and all of my moods.
 I love life right now.
I just don't think it could get any better.

Live and Learn right?

Well today has been one to remember.
For about 2 weeks we have had this weird smell, it was like a cat pee smell, in our apartment.
We could not, for the life of us figure out what it was, or get rid of it.
We started seeing a lot of fruit flies, and Chad says "they only show up when there is a sanitation issue."
I didn't believe him, because I clean a lot so its not like our apartment was dirty.
Until today after church when chad opened the pantry door and pulled out our treat basket
(yes we have a basket full of candy)
and low and behold there were 2 bags of potatoes that we had bought the first week we got here.
That was about 4 months ago, and we only used them once. They were green and goopy.
 IT SMELLED SOO BAD!
We could not even handle it. Chad was gagging and I grabbed some towels we could wrap around our faces to clean up the mess.  I got the Clorox wipes, and paper towels and Chad grabbed the toilet bowl cleaner.

After not being able to breath for about 15 mins we got it all cleaned up. Pheww.
Defnintely not going to let that happen again.

Once that was taken care of we went to pick up Eugene (one of our friends) and went to the Air and Space Museum in Herndon, VA. It was so much fun!
I had no idea there were so many different kinds of planes.

And I had no idea Chad knew everything there ever was to know about planes. I knew he wanted to be a pilot, BUT he is color blind so he can't. Wah wah.
Anyways. We had a lot of fun!

We asked Eugene to get a picture of us

And so he took a picture of himself

And this one

He is a goofball, but he did finally get one of us

and I got some modeling pics of them

Okay and I don't know what they were trying to do in this one.

But as you can see today was a hoot, and a total success.

Adventurous Together

I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to do this blog post on and I can't narrow it down to one thing.

I'm thinking about how excited I am for our future and what it holds for us.
I am so excited for kids. I shouldn't be baby hungry and I said I wouldn't be but I think there is just a baby switch that turns on in your brain once you get married, that triggers the baby hungriness.
BUT, before we have kids we have made it a goal to try and do as much traveling as possible.
Yesterday I told Chad that I want to move to Australia and live on the beach.
He said "Yeah lets do it I have an old mission companion that lives there and works as a fisherman. I'll message him and we can start saving."
I know we are poor but we can make it happen if we really want to.
Both of us have decided we would rather spend our money on experiences and memories rather than nice things.
So why not right?

So today I am just thankful for adventure, and my best friend that is right there with me (:

Allll of the fun we've had

Recently I had the opportunity to fly back to Utah, sadly it wasn't the happiest reason why.
 My "Gram" passed away.

It had been a really long 2 year battle of cancer and she put up one heck of a fight.
Even up to her very last days she still had her sense of humor and made us laugh. She always new how to make the best out of every situation. She also reminded us this wasn't a goobye,
it was just a "see you later."
I am so lucky to have had a "Gram" like her because of her determined, stubborn, and positive attitude. Also she had one of the strongest testimonies, which we all looked up to.
It was a really hard goodbye. But luckily I have the most amazing family.

(My siblings)
(My Beautiful sisters and neice)

(My good looking brother should be in a boy band)

We helped each other get through that weekend, and kept making jokes about what Gram would have said about the funeral. I love my family and I am so grateful that I got to see them! It has been tough being so far away. I also got the chance to go visit Chad's wonder family too.
They are such a hoot, and unfortunately Chad couldn't be there with me, because flights back to Utah are pricey and well we are newly weds. It was weird not sleeping next to him for 5 whole days. But it was the best reunion at the airport when he picked me up!
 He is the cutest (:

Okay new subject. Chad and I are almost done with the Summer out here! We have about 5 more weeks. It going to be a sad goodbye but I am excited to be closer to family. I absolutely love everyone I work with. They are so much fun! Last week was Blake Moses birthday,
so naturally we had to surprise him with pizza and cake.
He absolutely loved it. He had a big cheesy grin on his face.
(the birthday hat makes me look bald)

Lets see what else has been keeping us busy.
Oh, the other night one of the other wives, Katriel, and I had a spontaneous idea to make desserts for our husbands before they came home from work. And you would think we would have learned the first time when we followed a pinterest recipe. But we did it anyways. We went to the store and when we were hauling all the groceries up to my apartment I ran into the mirror of my car
and smashed one of the eggs in the carton :( .
(poor egg didn't have a chance)

The desserts came out okay, they weren't amazing but luckily the boys will eat them anyways.
We have some good husbands!
Saturday night we hung out with a bunch of the sales reps.
While we were watching a movie their dog wanted to be keeping a real close watch on us.

Chad and I have been sucked into netflix this summer. We have made it through 2 tv shows.
New Girl and Modern Family. We just recently started a new one,
Breaking bad. HOLY COW! It is the worst/best show ever.
On Sunday it consumed us from right when we got home from church til about 1 in the morning.
It's SO good! Although it is about drug lords and cooking meth, and probably isn't the greatest wholesome show but its packed full of action and keeps us guessing.

The Summer is winding down and we will be home before we know it. I have been so grateful for the opportunities we have had out here, and so so so grateful for the success Chad has had out here. These probably are the ideal jobs but they work. I am so grateful for Chad's goofy personality to get me through those long days, and thankful he puts up with my grumpy moods when I'm tired.
I am so in love and thankful for my husband and family! I have a really good life and I would never have pictured it being this great! Heavenly Father has definitely spoiled me!

Quick update!

Wow can you believe how horrible I am at keeping up on this blog?!
So much has been going on and we have been so busy. Since the days are longer in the summer, that means Chad is knocking doors later. I can't wait until we can eat dinner at a normal time. Summer sales has definitely been something we can learn from, and although Chad has been doing pretty well he doesn't want to pursue this career of being a door to door salesman. But hey it was something he had to figure out for himself, and some people can really make a living out of this, but its just not for us.
Working in the office has been great, I've met a lot of really nice people, and a lot of not nice people. I'm glad I have a job that can keep me busy and allows me to contribute to our income. But not seeing each other and these loooong days are hard.
So a couple weeks ago Chad and I were both really stressed and it was his idea to take a day off and go to Six Flags just us. It was so dang fun!
There were no lines and we went on the Superman rollercoaster about 7 times.
 Best. Ride. Ever.
Then it started raining and there were warnings of flash floods so we had to go home.
Six Flags adventure= Success!!

Changing directions
My mom, step dad and niece Kaylee, came out to visit Chad and I over the 4th of July weekend. Oh my gosh it was so much fun and definitely cured my home sickness.

We had a blast watching the fireworks in D.C.

We had glow sticks for the fireworks, thanks to my sister Kim (:

Touring is what we do best.

I hadn't gotten a picture with Dale that whole day and he made me get out of the car so we could take one. Notice how I am not wearing shoes. Love that guy!

Okay sorry for the picture overload!

Next..

My mom took me to Costco while she was here.

 Bad decision.
I spent so much money. That store just sucks you in.
But on a good note, we have enough food to last the rest of the summer.

Saturday night Chad and I took Kaylee to a company dinner we had with Alterra. Man she was just a little flirt. She is basically fluent in Spanish and all the return missionaries were just in awe over that. She is just a natural I guess. So glad I got to spend time with her and buy twinner shirts!

Don't mind the instagram border.

We took so many pictures!

Okay I know I am switching topics again but I just have so much to squeeze into this little post.
Yesterday marks the one year of knowing Chad. Man that flew by. I would have never thought I would be married at 19, let alone to the return missionary my Grandma set me up with. But I am so glad I went on that date with him. Staying up til the wee hours of the morning talking and laughing. He is the best thing that has happened to me, and I can definitely say he is my best friend. If it weren't for Chad I don't know how I would be able to deal with a lot of things going on in my life. He puts up with my moods and kisses me when I am sad. I know Heavenly Father put him in my life for a reason and I don't think I can thank Him enough for all of the ways Chad blesses my life.

Yep, I'm in love.

I know I am horrible at keeping my blog updated.
So this one might be pretty long sorry!
These past 3 weeks have been suuuper busy trying to settle into this new place.

Lets see, the day after we arrived in Virginia Chad started his first day of selling, luckily I didn't start until Monday. So while he was at work I had time to go grocery shopping and get some things for our appartment (which by the way I love) so we didn't have to live off of the cashews and chocolate left over from the drive.

This is the view off our balcony

Chad works Monday-Friday 8-9, yes 13 hour days. I don't know how he does it. Except Saturdays he only works until 4, which is the designated date night. I always look forward to those, but during the week we see each other a total of about 3 or 4 hours a day. It's hard going from seeing him every second on our honeymoon and the drive out to barely nothing. But it is still 100 x's better than when he was up at school. So i'll take it, and plus I have work everyday to keep me busy anyways. When I am home I get so bored and just try to busy myself.

So I just cook and clean this

And this.
It's weird. I never thought I'd love cooking, but I do. I love cooking for Chad and I. I'm not a very good cook but it's been a lot of fun being a wife.

I really love it out here. The weather is perfect, I never have to put lotion on because it's so humid. But this perfect weather will only last for about another month.
The summer will be death. Soo hot, and soo humid.
The people here are so nice, seriously they are so kind and welcoming.
It's made things a lot easier, especially going to our new ward.
We have been to our ward 2 sundays now, and we love it. We have both made some new friends and most everyone went out of their way to introduce themselves to us.
Oh and good news, I already have a calling. Yep they snagged me pretty quick. I am going to be in the young womans. I am so excited! Seriously I think it is going to be so fun!
Even though some of the girls are almost my same age I think it is going to be a blast!

Chad and I went to Washington D.C. together yesterday after church.
I love that boy so much, and I loved spending time with him walking all over D.C.

Our first stop was the Holocaust Museum. We both absolutely love learning new things about World War ll so it was amazing! But even if you don't and you ever have the chance to go there, do it! It was so cool, definitely an eye opener.

This is in front of the Halocaust Museum

Next stop was World War ll memorial, that was pretty cool.

Then we stopped by to say "Hi" to Obama.

Then we just walked around, talking, laughing, ya know what two love birds do (:

I know I look a little bald, but Chad loved this picture

I loved the old architecture on all of the buildings there, I'm obsessed.

Chad hates when I take pictures of him, so I do it without him knowing it.

Seriously, I loved it all.

How good looking is he! (:

I cannot tell you how much fun it is being married. I highly recommend it.
Even if you don't have a lot of money, or the nicest things. In my opinion that's when its the best.
That's when you fall more in love, and when you have to pull together to make things work.
I really look up to Chad. He has strengthened my testimony and made me really appreciate the little things in life. He's helped me keep a positive attitude. He makes things all better when i'm having a bad day, or when I am missing my family.
He is the perfect example of a hard working, dedicated priesthood holder. He works suuper long days with people yelling at him and slamming doors in his face, yet he still comes home in the greatest bubbly mood ready to just talk and ask me about my day. That just shows me how hard he will work for our future family.
I know he isn't perfect but dang, he is so much closer than anyone I've ever met. I love him so much and I am THE luckiest girl ever.
