Day 6, the last day in Paris

The last day in Paris was fun, exhausting, and beautiful.
We met up with my mom and step dad for a late lunch at this cute little Italian restaurant
and I ordered a pizza with potatoes on it.
I guess it was the specialty.
It was delicious.
Anywho, then we walked over to the Louvre because we hadn't been inside yet,
but just our luck it closed at 5:15, and it was 5:20.
But here is a picture of the inside of the pyramid.
Then we went to the Sainte Chappelle cathedral.
It was miraculous.

Those pictures just don't do any justice to how pretty the stain glass windows are.
Seriously though.
Then this is what the outside looks like.

Then we took the metro over to the Eiffel tower.
Going into the metro there was no where to buy tickets [or so we thought]
so we didn't and just jumped on the train.
Once we got there there was no where to get out of the train station without putting in our ticket to open the gate.
So Chad had to hop the gate, run alllll the way around and go ask the nice lady if we could buy some tickets so we can get through. She didn't make us pay she just opened the gate for us.
So sweet.
But then there was this other little girl that got separated from her family because she lost her ticket and couldn't get through.
We felt so bad for her so we bought her a ticket so she could be reunited.

Once we made it to the Eiffel Tower my mom's feet were demolished.
She wore some sandals that weren't very comfortable and had a couple pretty bad blisters.
Luckily I had some band-aids and some Neosporin in my bag and we were able to bandage her up.
[I was mocked for getting a new purse for the sole purpose of carrying around useful materials for occasions like this.]
We bought tickets to ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower and
oh my did that make my feet feel funny.
IT WAS SO HIGH!!
It was so pretty though.

We went back down and took a cab back over to Notre Dame, where my parents hotel was.
When we got there we decided to go get some food [gyros to be exact, they were actually quite good]. When my mom was going to pay for her and Dale's meal she couldn't find her envelope with all her money [Euros] in it.
Come to find out she remembers leaving it in the cab on our way over.
It was devastating.
I paid for her food, then Chad, Dale, and I convinced her that her money was probably going to pay for someone's sick child in need of a kidney transplant.
She felt better after that.

We finished dinner, got some ice cream, look at the cute shops, then called it a night.

Paris was good to us,
Until next time!

Day 5, Bikin' our way 'round town

Today was a dream, seriously.

I absolutely love riding bikes and the fact that we got to ride bikes around
 the Versallies Palace was dreamy.

To start off we almost didn't make it to the train station to meet up with our tour group,
we were literally running through the train station trying to figure out where the heck platform 1 was.
But don't worry we got there about 2 minutes before they were about to leave.

Phew.

Anywho, our group took a train ride to the farmer's market where we bought things for our picnic.
Our tour guide said that we needed to buy baguettes and the stinkiest cheese you can find because it's good for you.
We bought some cheese that was suuper good.
It had different herbs and spices on it and it went very well with our delicious baguettes.
We then brought our food with us and went to pick up the bikes.

My bike was the fancy bike, her name was Coco Chanel.
Not a big deal.
I don't remember anyone else's bikes names though, sorry.
We started out in the gardens and inside Marie Antoinette’s woman cave is what I like to call it

 My cute mom :).

Best day ever.

Who is that hotaaay!

Mid yawn, so cute.

I still can't believe how gorgeous this place was.

We met some life long friends in this tour!
So grateful for this group!
In the blue polo is Latisha our guide from France,
Mariela from Argentina, and Becky from Pittsburgh.
We were able to connect with both of them from the beginning of the tour because Dale served his mission in Argentina and we talked to Becky about how we lived in Pittsburgh. Mainly about all the good food we had in Pittsburgh

They were supposed to be taking a picture of my mom and I.

Looking out over the lake, I still thought it looked like a painting is was so beautiful.
The pictures don't do the palace justice on how pretty it was.

I tried to hold it in my hand, but I kept moving.

My cute Chad.

We kept riding, and still in awe of how green and GORGEOUS everything was.
Seriously I wonder how much upkeep there is to keep this garden looking the way it does.

We stopped at the the Grand and Petit Trianons.
And wow.

My mom and Dale photo bombed my picture.

Mirror selfie seemed appropriate.

I can't get over all the gold.
It is absolutely stunning.

Why just have one mirror selfie.

The our tour guide was telling us about how the manliest men and royalty wore high heels,
because it showed off the calf muscles and legs.
And if you had really nice calves and legs you were considered a man, because nice legs/ calves means you were a good horse rider and hunter.
So this next picture is in honor of that.

Then we made our way to the miniature village that Marie Antoinette built so that she could have the "country feel" close to home.
She was from the country so she wanted to "feel" like a peasant every once in a while.
So she hired people to come to the town and pretend they lived there for a day.

It was so cute, and perfect.
Although kind of weird that she would do that.

We then rode back to return our bikes and then walked over to the Palace of Versallies.

Sad to see Coco Chanel go.

Like I said, I can't get enough of all the gold.
It is magnificent.

This was King Louis bedroom.

And this was Marie Antoinette's.

All of the Chandeliers throughout the Palace were to die for.

My cute mom and Dale trying to get a picture among the millions of people.
It was so packed.

I think that guy in the corner was trying to photo bomb the picture.

Oh this was just the back yard, not a big deal.

Ha, it was HUGE, and gorgeous of course.

We walked back to the metro and went back to my mom's hotel.

Then we met up with the two girls from our tour group for dinner that night.
We didn't want to say goodbye just yet.
Like I said we met lifelong friends.

We went to some random French resturant and none of us were that impressed but,
Chad tried frog legs.
Don't know how I feel about it.
Mariela got escargot (snails) but nobody was brave enough to try them.

BUT,
today was amazing.
